There are lots of very good internet marketing companies out there, but with so many bad programs out there that it is just like looking for a twig in a forest.
There are many unscrupulous and dishonest marketers out there that have no interest in our interest after taking our money. These few bad apples have really clouded our quest for our search of a few viable companys to work with. This has created a mass hysteria about being scammed out of our money from ANY internet marketing and MLM business. This is really a shame and it does disservice to many wonderful, hardworking internet marketers out there.
There are certain Due Deligence that one can take to be sure that we can find the right business opportunity for ourselves. But there is one golden rule that we must follow before taking on this search, and that is this:
Do not get emotionally attached to the sponsor!
Yes, one must evaluate every prospective internet marketing business from a cold, detached perspective. There are reasons for this.
Most of us who have been divorced in the past can attest to the rarity of meeting the right person the first time. It almost never happens. It takes going through many bad apples before finding the right person. At least, this was true in my case. It is the same with finding the right internet marketing business to work with. We must compare several businesses systematically. All sponsors are salesperson. They will say and promise anything to get a signup. There are many people who have joined a business simply because of the sponsor, only to find out later that this person couldn't perform as promised.
For example, many sponsor will promise to pay for the first month membership fees or to help place the downline below your business to ensure your success. Then after the signup process is done, a new member is left with no communication from the sponsor. This is a bad sign for this organization.
If the upline is too busy to communicate with the trainee, then how can this organization be thriving with growth? Afterall, training is an integral part of the downline retention and duplication, one of the three legs of successful internet marketing organization. Getting stuck in the program with uncommunicative upline is a horrible feeling. This is especially true when a new member is strapped for cash and is left with no direction. Is there any wonder why anyone would NOT drop out of the program such as this? This happens even with a very successful company if one signs up under a bad sponsor.
This have left many people to drop out of the internet marketing and MLM business, thus contributing to it's ugly reputation of being a scam.
Ok, there are lots of internet marketing programs out there that produces volumes of testimonials and screenshots of bank statements and so forth, then wants to charge for the cost of the program. This has always bother me. Why would an internet millionaire charge for a program before showing any real proof that this person can help one's business grow? It should be the other way around. We need the money more than the internet gurus, correct? Why should we trust them with our hard-earned money? Why do we need to prove anything first? The company must show us good faith by giving us FREE trial memberships before we commit any money up front. This is how any reputable company do its business.
This will ensure that one will not get scammed. This is extremely crucial as one can find out before investing any money as if this organization will work for you. As much as I hate to admit, one may even have to cancel a membership and sign up with a better organization. Again, do not get emotionally attached with the sponsor.
One can also do an internet search on that company. For example, if we are looking to do a search on ABC.com for example, then we can do two things. First, go to alexa.com to do a traffic search on this company to see if this company is being honest about it's traffic. Any misstatement in the website is usually a bad news. Another thing that one can do is the run a search under scams. "ABC.com scams". Although there will be some internet marketers who will advertise the program under that keyword, there will be many who will have the opposing view on this company which you allow one the see the both sides of the company. Again, do not take the upline's word for it. Do your own research.
Another thing to consider. Be sure to review any refund or cancellation policy of the company. Any reputable company will have a clearly stated cancellation policy. Any guarantee that they can provide will be a great plus.
Last but not the least to consider is this. Is the product or service that this internet marketing company provides recession proof? Is there any evidence based on your research that this business provides something that is considered essential and important enough that people will shell out their hard earned money even in bad economic times? How about the price? Would you personally buy this product or service or have you purchased anything like this in the past? There are some very important reasons for this.
Any professional salesperson will admit that it is easier to sell something that the consumers already use versus selling something that they have never used. It all has to do with the psychology of buying. For example, it is easier to get your perspective signups to switch to your product or services and get residuals rather than convincing them to change their behavior by coming out of the comfort zone and try out this new thing. People hate to come out of the comfort zone for anything now a days.
Listen to your inner voice about when listening to the presentation. That inner voice will be almost always be correct. Do not let the personality of the sponsor to force you into the program. After all, anyone convinced against his will is not convinced at all, correct?
Hopefully, this will help with any search of the home based business in the very near future.
